Richard McDonagh Plastering (“we”) is the data controller for the information on this website and in our quoting and invoicing system. Contact: 087 223 5329 or the email address on our invoices.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries: name, company, mobile, email, site address, drawings and photos you send. Used to price your job (legitimate interest in responding to your request).
- Quotes and acceptance: when you accept a quote online we record your name, job title, company, the date and time, your IP address and browser, and a fingerprint of the quote document. This is the record of the contract.
- Invoices and payments: invoice and payment records, including RCT deduction details. Kept to meet tax law.
- Direct debit (homeowners and other non-contractor customers only): bank details are collected and held by Stripe, our payment provider. We keep only the last four digits of your IBAN and a mandate reference.
- Business contact details of construction firms: we may contact firms using details they publish (such as an office phone number or info@ address) about plastering work. Every email includes a way to opt out, and we never store personal email addresses for this.
- Website statistics: we count page views per page per day, with no cookies and no personal data.
Who we share it with
- Stripe (payments), our website host SiteGround and Cloudflare (hosting and security), our accountant, and Revenue where the law requires.
- We use an AI service (Anthropic) to help read drawings and draft replies. Drawings are sent for processing only and are not used to train models.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
- Quotes, invoices, payments and acceptance records: 7 years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we must keep financial records for 7 years). You can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
